litRPG : LitRPG is a subgenre of fiction that combines storytelling with video game mechanics, such as visible stats, levels, and skills. It's often a blend of fantasy and science fiction, where characters are consciously interacting with a game-like system to progress. Categories within LitRPG are based on the setting and plot, including virtual reality where characters play a game, portal/isekai where they are transported to a new, game-like world, and dungeon core where they play as a non-human entity like a dungeon.
